Hello Irene,

This problem can sometimes be caused by uninstalling software (unsinstallers deleting files).

What you need to do is replace that file. You will find the download and detailed instructions here:

http://www.lancelhoff.com/component-mscomctlocx-or-one-of-its-dependencies-not-correctly-registered/

Thanks for giving it a go!
Charles

Hello Charles

I am really looking forward to trying out this planner, but I can't get very far. I have added a user and when I press "User Home" I get Run-time error '339' Component 'MSCOMCT2.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.
How can I move on?

Sincerely Irene

Hi Leick,

Thanks for your feedback!

You're right, it needs some re-doing... It's difficult from the creator's perspective as I am obviously very familiar with the app. I tried too hard to show big projects could be handled (hence the overdoing with the subtasks).

From a user's point of view, do you think the video is necessary or would you have been able to figure out how it works?

The tutorial could be improved quite a bit.

First, the video is unwatchable from the little window above - it's too tiny to make out the print. I had to go over to YouTube and then zoom their larger screen even further.

Second, voice-over explaining what you're doing would be very helpful (I thought my sound wasn't working at first).

Third, the pacing in the video is pretty uneven. Here's what I saw:
- you spent 90 seconds showing how to add a user, open the user, create a new project, and enter the time frames for the project.
- then, for 7 minutes, you showed how to create and add subtasks, over and over, subtask after subtask after subtask... (yawn)
- finally, at the very end, in 45 seconds you briefly showed all the other features
